A spokesman for China's Foreign Ministry suggested on Thursday the US military might have brought the coronavirus to the Chinese city of Wuhan, which has been hardest hit by the outbreak, doubling down on a war of words with Washington.
China has taken great offence at comments by US officials accusing it of being slow to react to the virus, first detected in Wuhan late last year, and of not being insufficiently transparent.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is eyeing additional border restrictions following United States President Donald Trump's 30-day ban travel ban on Europe.
"I expect I'll be getting advice in the next 24 hours to move again on our border restrictions," the Prime Minister told reporters in Northland on Thursday.

US President Donald Trump has announced all travel from Europe to the United States is suspended for 30 days due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
The travel ban doesn't include the United Kingdom.

People with high blood pressure may be more at risk of dying from COVID-19 once infected, according to a small study of coronavirus patients in China.
In a recent phone interview with Bloomberg, a top Chinese intensive-care doctor warned of hypertension, or high blood pressure, posing a "very dangerous" risk to COVID-19 patients.
