ACT says New Zealand would save $11.2 billion if it was in power, proposing an alternative Budget that would see tax rates cut, minimum wage increases paused and the Zero Carbon Act repealed.

New Zealand is co-sponsoring a United Nations (UN) event on the human rights situation in Xinjiang; an event China has lashed out against, labelling it a "shameful travesty".

The average house price in New Zealand will hit $1 million before year's end, if recent trends continue.
The latest Quotable Value figures, out Monday, show the average value nationwide is now $913,209 - up 8.9 percent in just three months. At that rate, the $1 million mark will be reached by September.

Debris from an out-of-control Chinese rocket has broken through Earth’s atmosphere over the Indian Ocean.
The Chinese National Space Agency confirmed the Long March 5B rocket re-entered over the Indian Ocean at 02.24 UTC (2.24pm New Zealand time) on Sunday, southwest of Sri Lanka.

Remnants of China's largest rocket launched last week are expected to plunge back through the atmosphere on Sunday.
On Friday, China's foreign ministry said most debris from the rocket will burn on re-entry and is highly unlikely to cause any harm after the US military said what it called an uncontrolled re-entry was being tracked by United States Space Command.
