Global motoring giant Toyota is criticising the Government after the Prime Minister suggested it's in discussions to bring an electric version of its famous ute into New Zealand.
Toyota has since confirmed it has no plans to bring any electric utes into New Zealand within the next two years.

Health authorities in Fiji have confirmed 47 cases of Covid-19.
This takes the total number of infections since the second outbreak started in April to over 900, with 702 active cases currently in isolation.

Police are continuing to hunt for a motorist who allegedly pulled a gun on officers, and another member of the public in Manawatū.
Police pulled a vehicle over in Feilding at 11am on Sunday, and the driver pulled out a firearm, a police media spokesman said.
The motorist fled, and the Armed Offenders Squad was called in to support police with inquiries.

Group of Seven leaders on Sunday scolded China over human rights in its Xinjiang region, called for Hong Kong to keep a high degree of autonomy and demanded a full and thorough investigation of the origins of the coronavirus in China.
After discussing how to come up with a unified position on China, leaders issued a highly critical final communique that delved into what are for China some of the most sensitive issues, including also Taiwan.

Green Party MPs Julie Anne Genter and James Shaw have celebrated their victory over New Zealand First in implementing rebates for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, saying their rivals "prevented" it from happening while they were in Government.
