Most Kiwis still don't think house prices are going to stop rising, despite everything the Government has been doing and warnings from the Reserve Bank interest rate hikes are looming.
"Stubborn resistance" is the phrase used in the latest ASB Housing Confidence survey, out on Friday, which shows overwhelming confidence remains in a market already at record highs.

It should be danger signs for New Zealand that Taiwan, a country that's only vaccinated 1 percent of its population, is experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases, a leading medical expert says.

Hong Kong’s legislature on Thursday passed a bill amending electoral laws that drastically reduces the public’s ability to vote and increases the number of pro-Beijing lawmakers making decisions for the city.
The new law empowers the city’s national security department to check the backgrounds of potential candidates for public office and a sets up a new committee to ensure candidates are “patriotic.”

Dawn Aerospace has today announced significant backing from NZ’s largest tech investment firm, Movac.
Dawn is creating next-generation space transportation technologies. This investment will be used to scale the production of Dawn’s in-space propulsion products, and to progress Dawn’s Mk-II, a suborbital plane that utilises rocket engines, to a fully-fledged commercial service.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has hit out at a 60 Minutes Australia commercial questioning whether New Zealand is betraying our trans-Tasman partner for a "fast Chinese buck".
The promotional video advertises an upcoming episode looking into New Zealand's relationship with China. Including a deep voiceover, melodramatic background music and interviews with the likes of Mike Hosking, the advertisement suggests New Zealand is turning into "New Xi-land" and ditching Australia "for a fast Chinese buck".
