the paragraph where she says "New recruits to the NZ defence forces, who joined up hoping for job security, to learn a trade and develop a skillset, may be in for a nasty shock if asked to take up arms against this sea of trouble." is the dumbest thing I have heard in years, anyone who joins the armed forces knows the risk and knows that they may be asked to actually go to war... to say that they could be in for a shock if asked is just pure and utter crap.
New Zealand has to pick a side...we can not sit on the fence... and the way China has been aggressively pushing its weight around in the south china sea and pacific... we better pick the correct side to that is willing to push back.
Defence Minister Ron Mark is adamant there is no danger in sending Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) personnel to RIMPAC 2020.
"We will deploy a Covid-19-free vessel, with Covid-19-free crew," Minister Mark says. "It will stay isolated from all other people."
