This is so typical of the Greens. NZ Green MP Golriz Ghahraman was recently wanting budget cut backs for the NZDF. Now look at her.... Golriz is now wanting to double our efforts... lucky we didn't make those cut backs now isn't.... 



I do hope she learns from this... which we all know she won't. But I do hope the New Zealand also starts to learn from this and that our Armed Forces are on 24 hour alert 365 days of the year, rain, hail or snow and even Covid that they could and will be deployed at a moments notice to anywhere in the world to any type of situation and need to have updated equipment and the right equipment to do the job.

These war making machines you speak of are about to go and rescue many people from the Taliban.

If we keep making cut backs as Green MP Golriz Ghahraman wants then we would struggle even more than we do now for the tasks that are constantly asked of our armed forces. To be fair Golriz Ghahraman has no idea what is happening in the world and and is in her own little green paradise and probably high as a kite thinking New Zealand has no enemies and we are safe.

That is far from the truth, and the time is now to expand our armed forces not shrink it. The world is not as benign as it was 10 years ago, and it is only going to get worse as people fight over resources and New Zealand is a good resource... 

This is where people say New Zealand has nothing and I beg to differ.  
 
New Zealand has land and fresh water, lots of it and we are at present basically giving the water away to China which is another rant that I won't go on... just yet anyway.  Also New Zealand produces enough food to feed 40,000,000 yes 40 Million people. All the good stuff that we produce goes over seas in Export.  If we wanted to we could drill for oil in the southern basin... it is well known that ab oil resource is there, in our territory. Not only oil rich it is fish rich and not over fished, some more food... New Zealand is mineral rich as well. Why are we exploring some of these, well the Green Party of course.
 
If we don't have the budget for our defence force to protect our domain and to help our allies there will be countries that when push comes to shove that will strip fish, strip mine it and essentially take the resources for them self (I'm looking at you China. yeah I said it) 
 
I am sick and tired of people that are blind to the worlds geopolitics especially politicians like Golriz Ghahraman. The Defence Force are not all about making war... but they need the tools to do so if push comes to shove, and need the tools to do a variety of jobs from Border protection, fishery patrols, protect our trade routes so you can keep living your life of luxury. Search and Rescue, Evacuation Missions, HADR Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief, and if push comes to shove then yes fight.
