The government has confirmed the minimum wage will be going up by $1.20 next year.

It's the next step towards the government's plan for the minimum wage to reach $20 by 2021.

The soldier, who was taken into military custody on Friday, is a 27-year-old man working as an armourer at the Linton Military Camp.

Defence Minister Ron Mark has confirmed he got into a scuffle with a drunk man who stole his cowboy hat.

The NZ First MP was at a Fleetwood Mac tribute concert in Carterton on Saturday, December 7, when his cowboy hat - a regular part of his attire - was stolen by a punter he said was clearly intoxicated.
