Taranaki police have ramped up their highway patrol as motorists flout the coronavirus lockdown rules.

Despite the rules being made abundantly clear, Sergeant Pat Duffy, of the Central District highway patrol, said there were still "too many" cars on the road.

To be clear, the 451 are total cases that New Zealand has had from the start, currently, though there 50 people have recovered meaning, currently 401 still with the virus. 35 of these are probable cases.

So 366 currently confirmed cases in NewZealand that we are dealing with at the time of this article. Though the probable cases could easily and most like will become a confirmed. Don't let the total number of cases fool you.

Between 11pm Thursday night and 8am Friday morning police received 396 calls relating to Covid-19 and 279 related to self-isolation breaches.

The prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, says there has been no change to Australia's position on New Zealanders out of work due to Covid-19.

On Tuesday she pleaded with the Australian prime minister, Scott Morrison, to make an exception to the rule that bars many of the 650,000 New Zealanders there from receiving a benefit.

It's a bit like the mystery of where butterflies go in the rain - where do the worlds planes go when they're not flying? It's one of the many unprecedented problems the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown up for the aviation industry.

Airlines have spent decades mastering the art of maximising the amount of time an aircraft is in the air and shortening the turnaround time between flights as much as possible, because an aircraft on the ground doesn't make any money.
