Scooter company Lime has responded to news a man died after falling from one of the company's e-scooters on Monday.
The incident occurred about 6:15pm on Monday, September 16 on Westhaven Dr, in St Mary's Bay.
The 23-year-old man was initially taken to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition, but police confirmed on Friday he had since passed away.

Lime NZ public affairs manager Lauren Mentjox said in a statement the scooter involved in the incident has been assessed and the company is cooperating with police.
"The entire Lime team is deeply saddened by the news of the tragic death of one of our riders. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the rider’s family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time."
Auckland Council expressed similar sentiments on Friday, director of regulatory services Craig Hobbs told Newshub it's "extremely saddened" by the news.
"We are currently in the final six weeks of phase two of our trial, and we will soon be evaluating what we have learned and the information we have gathered during the trial. It is too soon to anticipate what the evaluation will conclude."
It's the second death to involve a Lime e-scooter in New Zealand after a 58-year-old man died in downtown Auckland in June.
His death was ruled a medical event.
