In March 2022, the Report of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee on the 2020/21 Annual Review of the Ministry of Defence and the NZDF, noted in the section headed ‘Strategic competition and co-operation in the Pacific’ that, “We heard that there will not be a white paper in 2022. However, Defence will be recommending to Ministers terms of reference that look at the development of defence policy settings in a more proactive approach, and the force structure that would support those settings.”

When New Zealand is in the middle of a housing crisis, where are we going to house any extra refugee's??? Where? with out kicking out any locals. It just makes the housing shortage worse. Look after our own people first, and then any left overs and if there is room sure but until then we already do enough for the size of country we are.

Weird, but apparently so. All this week, a series of media policy wonks have been invidiously comparing how many trips offshore Nanaia Mahuta has been taking, when compared to her Australian counterpart.
