TAIPEI, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Taiwan's air force scrambled again on Sunday to warn away 27 Chinese aircraft that entered its air defence zone, Taiwan's defence ministry said, the latest increase in tensions across the Taiwan Strait as China's president met his top generals.

Leading Epidemiologist Professor Rod Jackson says Kiwis should prepare for another year of messiness and uncertainty.
He says, “next year is going to be messy, it’s going to be uncertain. I mean everyone wants certainty, but viruses don’t play by any rules. We really don’t know. The best way to be prepared, is to be prepared for uncertainty.”

ANALYSIS: At 4pm on Monday, the Government will lay out what life will look like when the traffic light system, officially known as the Covid-19 Protection Framework, begins on Friday.
The key decision will be which parts of the country are at the ‘orange’ light setting and which are at ‘red’. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has previously said that no region will be going into ‘green’ but that on Monday we will learn what the circumstances will be for that to occur.

Two travellers to Sydney are confirmed to have the Omicron variant of COVID-19, NSW Health says on Sunday night.
Both passengers came to Sydney from southern Africa on the evening of Saturday November 27. They were tested on arrival and this came back positive for COVID-19 late last night. Both are full vaccinated and are now in isolation in the Special Health Accommodation.

Scholars estimate that Chinese authorities detained more than 1 million Uyghurs in centres and re-education camps for periods ranging from weeks to years.
