Why would people think New Zealand even if we wanted to could join NATO? I mean it is in the title "North Atlantic Treaty Organization." However New Zealand has been a Major non-NATO ally since 1997.

In February last year, a 1News investigation revealed Air New Zealand's Gas Turbines team had been fixing engines for the Saudi navy which was fuelling the humanitarian conflict in Yemen.

The airline subsequently apologised to New Zealanders and abandoned its engine repair work for the Saudi navy.
