Official figures have revealed there were 135 incidents of self-harm in youth justice facilities in the last five years.
In that same period, there were seven suicide attempts, including self-harm and attempted self-harm, by young people in police cells - one in 2016 aged just 13.

So the Defence Capability Plan 2019 was released in June 2019 it covers the defence spending out to about 2030 of what type new equipment the NZDF will receive, although not saying exactly what they will buy for example a 2nd enhanced sealift vessel for RNZN but only basically say it's capability, not what the actual vessel is or where they will get it built or even the exact style of the vessel. There are many options from LPD's too small LHD's.

Police have arrested one person following an incident on Te Ngae Road, Owhata, where Police were following a suspected stolen vehicle about 5.35pm.
An occupant exited the vehicle and fired at Police, hitting the patrol car.
