Scientists in the UK have figured out the exact ingredient in the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine behind a few rare cases of anaphylaxis.
They're stressing the risk of the taking the vaccine is far outweighed by the dangers of contracting the virus, which has killed more than 3 million people worldwide in the past 14 months.

Medsafe, New Zealand's medical regulatory body, says there have been 147 adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines since the rollout commenced on February 20 - but one doctor believes these cases "are not unexpected".
A report shows the most common reaction is dizziness (27 cases), headaches (21), nausea (18), and fainting (18).

Kiwis now have access to a dashboard of data detailing how New Zealand's COVID-19 vaccination rollout is progressing.
The statistics, which will be updated weekly, include the number of vaccinations individual District Health Boards (DHBs) have administered as well as the age and sex of those who have received the jab.

There is a link between AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine and very rare blood clots in the brain but the possible causes are still unknown, a senior official for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said in an interview published on Tuesday.
However, the EMA later said in a statement that its review of the vaccine was ongoing and it expected to announce its findings on Wednesday or Thursday. An AstraZeneca spokesman declined to comment on the matter.

A week on from its release, New Zealand experts have not yet finished analysing a World Health Organization (WHO) report into the origins of COVID-19.
The long-anticipated study into the SARS-CoV-2 virus was released last Tuesday following a mission to Wuhan, China by a team of international experts. While inconclusive about the virus' source, the report found it was "extremely unlikely" the virus originated from a laboratory.
