The European Union has been blasted as a "total disgrace" for allowing Italy to block a quarter of a million doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine from reaching Australia — and some Brits are even offering to forego their jab so more can be sent here.
Amid a botched rollout across the EU, the Italian government notified Brussels of its decision to prevent 250,000 doses from being exported to Australia at the end of last week.

The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) wants to see what the jetpack technology is capable of doing and how it can be applied by the military, particularly special forces units.
In a solicitation posted on the government contracting site, the agency said it was interested in seeing how soldiers can benefit from what it referred to as “portable personal air mobility systems.”

The Government has no plans for future lockdowns to be limited to just suburbs, rejecting suggestions by a prominent business leader this would benefit the economy.
Earlier this week Auckland Business Chamber chief executive Michael Barnett told The AM Show rather than shutting down all of Auckland next time there's a COVID-19 outbreak, health authorities should consider ringfencing only suburbs where it's been detected.
