The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a complaint that a Facebook ad for a Hamilton car dealership was "misleading", as it included a poster that looked very similar to the Government's Unite Against COVID-19 branding.
A sponsored post for Hamilton Electric Vehicles popped up in the complainant's news feed and the ad included a photo of the dealership's entrance, which displayed three COVID-related posters. At the top was a Freedom and Rights Coalition poster that had diagonal yellow and white stripes similar to the Government's Unite Against COVID-19 signs.

More than a third of patients hospitalised with COVID-19 in New Zealand are unvaccinated.
The Ministry of Health has released its most up to date vaccine date, saying 21 people are currently in hospital with the virus. One person is in ICU.

Genome sequencing has confirmed an Auckland Airport worker who tested positive for COVID-19 has the Omicron variant, the Ministry of Health said.
A household contact of the worker who tested positive on Tuesday also has the variant.

New Zealand is facing a number of maritime issues on Sunday with the National Emergency Management Agency saying coastal areas on the north and east coast of the North Island and the Chatham Islands may experience strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges at the shore.
The activity has been caused by the eruption at 4:10am (local time) of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai underwater volcano, located about 65km north of Nuku'alofa, caused a 1.2-metre tsunami.
