Multiple investigations are underway after a Canterbury doctor was filmed issuing COVID vaccine medical certificate exemptions to anti-vaxxers.

Another 14 people have been arrested as part of an investigation into the smuggling of drugs into New Zealand using baggage handlers.
"A total of 24 people have been charged as a result of a six-month joint investigation by the NZ police's national organised crime group and NZ Customs investigating vulnerabilities at the New Zealand border and, in particular, Auckland International Airport and the Port of Auckland," a statement said.

The United States will have to "pay a price" for its diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China said on Tuesday, just weeks after talks aimed at easing tense relations between the two sides.
The White House said on Monday U.S. government officials would boycott the Winter Olympics because of China's human rights "atrocities", although U.S. athletes were free to travel there to compete.
