The New Zealand Defence Force has been ordered to pay a former employee $25,000 after a flawed dismissal process.
The Employment Relations Authority in Wellington was told former human resource site lead Juliette Darnley worked with the force between July 31, 2017, until June 24, 2019.

Rocket Lab to Launch Most Diverse Mission Yet
- The mission will deploy 30 satellites to unique orbits using the Electron launch vehicle’s Kick Stage space tug
- The satellites will enable internet from space, test new methods of deorbiting space debris, and enable research into predicting earthquakes

Helen Clark and the Māori Council have spoken out against international media for describing Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta as a "tattooed Maori woman" and fixating on her appearance.
Māori Council executive chairman Matthew Tukaki said it was a "disgrace" that Mahuta, the first woman and wāhine Māori to become New Zealand's Foreign Minister, had been subjected to "offensive" headlines overseas.
