62-year-old Murray Edward Thomas Robertson is wanted in relation to an alleged abduction and sexual violation of a 17-year-old female.

Another man, whose identity is unknown, held the woman down inside the car while the pair drove the girl a few blocks away to Roseman Ave and sexually violated her.

The girl managed to escape the vehicle and sought help from members of the public, who phoned police.

Police are seeking sightings of a silver Mazda MPV vehicle - registration HTW761 - similar to this vehicle.

Robertson is understood to drive a silver-grey coloured Mazda MPV with the registration HTW761 and has links to the south Auckland and Bay of Plenty areas.

His last sighting was at a petrol station in Tauranga.

Police asked anyone who sees Robertson to phone 111.

Officers are also investigating a second sexual attack in Blockhouse Bay on Sunday evening, which also involved two males.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard said Robertson was "extremely dangerous" and needed to be located before he claimed further victims

Police were still trying to establish the circumstances of the attack, but Detective Inspector Scott Beard said he believed the two assaults were linked due to the proximity and nature of the attacks.

The victims in both matters were said to be "understandably traumatised", and police urged anyone with information on either incidents to some forward.

The victims were being supported by police and Auckland Sexual Help.

Inspector Beard said Robertson was "extremely dangerous" and needed to be tracked down before he claimed new victims.
