Brian Tamaki has called the Government out over the latest cash injection for schools announcement, saying Destiny School has "never got anything".

The Government announced on Sunday some schools will receive a cash injection of up to $400,000 to help improve their facilities.

It is estimated each eligible school will receive at least $50,000 regardless of the number of students.

Well lets [sic] see about that Jacinda [Ardern]," Tamaki said on Twitter earlier on Monday, referring to the cash injection announcement. "For the last 18 yrs Destiny School has never got anything from Govt [sic].

"Don't you get sick of begging for money?"

"Kids frm South Aucks pay fees nd get sponsered [sic]..Pay up!!"

Tamaki believes students at Destiny School are being refused opportunities.

"All children in this country are important, including students at destiny school," he told NZME.

"Over the past 16 years, Destiny School has been restricted in its delivery due to the consistent knock-backs of successive governments to fund our applications to become a chartered or integrated school."

Users responded to Tamaki's post, telling him, "you pay no taxes".

"Don't you get sick of begging for money?" one person asked.

"Are you seriously taking a high horse about financial transparency?" another wrote.

Ardern said the donation is the biggest capital injection for school maintenance funding in at least 25 years.

The money will need to be spent within the next 24 months.

"It's a well-deserved early Christmas present for school communities," Education Minister Chris Hipkins said on Sunday.
