Back to sea. Yesterday, The Anzac class Frigate HMNZS Te Kaha commenced the first of her intensive sea trials off Canada’s West Coast. A welcome return to sea after a period at CFB Esquimalt where she's been undertaking a significant systems upgrade.

The historic Fisgard Lighthouse at the mouth of Esquimalt Harbour has guided ships out of the harbour for 160 years. Yesterday, HMNZS Te Kaha sailed past on the first of her intensive sea trials off Canada’s West Coast.

For the officers and crew of the ship this was a momentous occasion as Te Kaha makes a welcome return to sea after an extended period at CFB Esquimalt where she has been undertaking a significant systems upgrade.

Fair winds Te Kaha.
