A social media platform being launched as "the voice of free speech" by MyPillow founder Mike Lindell is going to ban a wide variety of speech, he's announced.

The outspoken ally of Donald Trump says the network, which he's calling 'Frank', will launch next week.

But if you want to use a naughty word or blaspheme, you'll have to exercise your free speech elsewhere.

"You don't get to use the four swear words: the c-word, the n-word, the f-word, or God's name in vain," Lindell said in a recent online video.

While most swear words can easily be picked up by an automated moderation system, it's unclear how Frank would be able to differentiate, for example, blasphemous from non-blasphemous uses of the words "Jesus Christ".

The 'free speech' pitch means Frank could've appealed to alt-right extremists in a similar way as the likes of Gab and Parler, but those platforms pride themselves on an anti-censorship approach.

Frank is instead set to censor free speech much more than Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, according to the swearing and blasphemy rules Lindell outlined in the video cited by Newsweek.

It will also block porn and death threats.

Lindell, also known as the 'My Pillow Guy', was banned from Twitter earlier this year for repeated violations of its misinformation policy.

The businessman has frequently espoused debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 US election and helped fund Trump's attempts to have its results overturned. He's also touted an unproven toxic plant extract as a "miracle" cure for COVID-19.
